MFF PERCHERON HORSES
We enjoy the help and companionship of two beautiful Percheron draft horses.
The Percherons are interesting to us historically because it is believed that Charles Martel, the Catholic Frankish king of the 8th century AD, developed the Percheron breed by breeding his horses with captured horses from the Arabian Muslim armies he defeated at Poitiers in 732. The Percheron was likely the Destrier used in medieval times by warriors and knights in battle. These are huge, powerful horses–19 hands (76″) from the ground to the top of their shoulders.
Our horses have an interesting resume. They have starred in a television commercial, have served weddings at the Biltmore Estate, have pulled carriages at the Billy Graham Library Christmas show, have worked at the Dolly Parton Dixie Stampeded in Myrtle Beach and more.
